The Pop-Up
A haunted cocktail bar,
for the month of October.
Every October, Steuben’s disappears. In its place: cobwebbed chandeliers, fog rolling across the floor, and a menu of cocktails served in collectible vessels you will absolutely want to take home.
One month, one room, and a menu you will not find here in November.

Reservations
Book your table
Reservations for the full October run are open now. Halloween weekends go first, so grab a night while you can.
Walk-ins are welcome as space allows — but on a Friday in late October, a reservation is the difference between a table and the sidewalk.

Questions
Before you come
What exactly is The Haunting?
A Halloween cocktail pop-up that takes over Steuben’s for the month of October. The room is completely transformed — fog, cobwebs, candlelight, the works — and the bar serves a dedicated menu of themed cocktails in collectible vessels. It is a bar experience, not a haunted house.
The Haunting runs in cities across the country each autumn. This is the Denver edition.
When are you open?
Every night from October 1 through October 31, 2026 — book any night on OpenTable using the button above.
Where is the Denver location?
Inside Steuben’s, at 523 E 17th Ave in Denver. Same address you already know — the room just will not look like itself for a month.
Do I need a reservation?
Strongly recommended, especially on weekends and the week of Halloween. You can book on OpenTable (opens in a new tab) for any night in October. Walk-ins are welcome when we have room, but we do fill up.
Is there a cover charge or ticket?
Any reservation fee, minimum, or cover will be shown clearly at the time you book — no surprises at the door.
Is it 21+?
Yes. The Haunting is an adults-only experience. Bring a valid photo ID — everyone gets carded, and a mask that covers your face will need to come off at the door.
Do I have to wear a costume?
Never required, always encouraged. Most nights you will see everything from full costume to street clothes. Please skip anything with a weapon prop or a mask you cannot remove for ID.
Is it actually scary?
Atmospheric rather than frightening. Expect low light, fog, and a lot of detail to look at. There are no jump scares and no actors chasing anyone through the room — you are here to have a drink.
Can I keep the mug?
Yes — the cauldron, clown, and doll-head vessels are available to purchase in-house, boxed and ready to take home. Ask your bartender. The glassware that comes with a drink stays with us.
Are there non-alcoholic options?
Yes. The Spiritless Tomb is built zero-proof from the ground up, and most of the menu can be made without alcohol on request — same vessel, same theatrics.
Can I book a large group or private event?
Yes — for groups larger than 6, email jessie@secretsaucedenver.com and we will put something together.
Is the space accessible?
The Haunting takes over Steuben’s existing room, so the building is the same one you already know. If you have a specific access need, email jessie@secretsaucedenver.com before you come and we will tell you exactly what to expect. Note that the room uses fog effects and low, flickering light throughout.
